About us

Hi I am Laura-Ann, I grew up on a beautiful Island off the north west of Scotland. This is a very special place and I have so many fond childhood memories playing on my Grandmother's croft with my Cousins. 

From an early age I loved designing and making things, however my passion for handmade creations really started when I moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2006 with my (now) husband Anthony. I was inspired by my Australian mother in law - Shirls, who is an amazing seamstress/ dressmaker. I loved going fabric shopping with her and seeing her final creations, so beautiful and made from the heart with so much attention to detail. Since 2006 I have been learning a great deal from Shirls, including how to master Australia's national dessert - Pavalova!! 

My husband and I moved to Zurich, Switzerland in 2011, where I gave birth to our first child -- Jack Wade. Living in such a beautiful country and having Jack, inspired me even more to design and sew.

Lamercs*  was established when I started making Jack some absorbent bandana bibs, during his teething period, at around 4 month old. I couldn't find any bibs that were absorbent enough to keep his t-shirts dry and funky enough to keep on all day long. So I started experimenting with different fabric and flannel backing to create stylish bandana bibs, that a child could grow with. Each bandana allows for two sizes, with a press stud fastening system, with the aim to last until the child is 2.5-3 years old. I am now sharing my passion with other mamas and have started to expand my range to feeding bibs and baby change bags.
